Visions for the FutureA Regional Celebration of Living JudaismWe envision a regional celebration/conference that celebrates Judaism with offerings of Jewish culture, religion, community life, education, and more. We envision having representatives from all of the local synagogues, Hebrew schools and Day Schools, Jewish summer camps, Jewish community organizations, philanthropies, etc. There will be Jewish entertainment - Israeli folk dancing and music, for example - as well as books, music, and of course great food! A major goal of this event is to offer Jewish participants a multitude of ways to incorporate Judaism into their lives and to connect to the local Jewish community for themselves and their children. The event would be something like one-stop-shopping for Jews - a way of learning (more) about Jewish life and Jewish values as well as a celebration of Judaism. For those Jews who are unaffiliated or religiously alienated, it will be a way to learn (more) about what Judaism has to offer - from religious, spiritual, cultural, and communal perspectives. Non-Jewish attendees will have an opportunity to sample the richness and diversity of Jewish life and culture This event is in the very early stages of planning. Tour: Promised Land, Sacred LandMany tours of Israel feature sightseeing from early morning to late at night, packing as much of the experience of being in Israel into a week or ten days as is humanly possible. For many first-time visitors to Israel this is the ideal type of trip. However, we want to do this trip a little differently. We will pick out a few special regions - for example, Safed, Jerusalem, the Judean hills, or the Sinai - and we will take time to feel the power and presence of this sacred land. We'll walk the streets, the hills, the wilderness; we'll trace events and people in the Bible and in Jewish history, and deepen our connection through spiritual practices and religious observances that tap into the power of the land of Israel. This is that land on which our ancestors walked thousands of years ago. It is that land that Jews have yearned for since the Roman Legions defeated Bar Kochba in Second Jewish Revolt in 132 CE. This is the land of Israel - where Jews have lived continuously for over three thousand years. Experience the sacred land of Israel, the land of the Bible, as you've only imagined it. This tour is in the very early stages of planning. For more information, contact:
